Berghia snail
Buy Berghia snails to combat Aiptasia in the aquarium.
They feed exclusively on aiptasia.
The Berghia snail (Aeolidiella stephanieae), also known as the aiptasia nudibranch, is a marine snail formerly known as Berghia verrucicornis. It is native to the United States, Africa, Brazil, and the western Atlantic.
These snails reach a body length of about two centimeters, although adult specimens can grow up to four centimeters long.
As far as its diet is concerned, the Berghia snail is a food specialist and feeds exclusively on Aiptasia.
Because of this property, it helps in controlling Aiptasia. Interestingly, young Berghia snails prefer feeding in smaller groups, but this preference disappears as the animals get older.
